Dear Congress, What Makes You Angry?

A comment by Chris got me thinking.

We were marveling over Henry Rollins amazing speech, in which he calls on his audience to find what makes them angry, and act on it.

How often are we labeled “The Angry Left”?

To those who gave us that label, you finally got one thing right you fuckers!

We are mad, and it is powerful.  It moves us to vote, volunteer, campaign, write, protest, and raise a royal fucking ruckus in our backyard.  You guys are the political squatters and we know it.

Which brings me to the title of this post.  Chris wondered:

Too bad Pelosi and Reid don’t have 10% of Rollins cajones.

If they did, maybe the funding for this war would be over and the Articles of Impeachment would’ve been ordered.

Rollins for Congress?

Imagine what could be accomplished if our Democratic leaders became attack dogs.  So:

Dear Congress,

What makes you angry?  There’s something.  We all have something that makes our blood buck and kick.

What are you going to do about it?

  1. ^5 to you, Mistah.

  2. Thanks Mirth!
I’m now wearing a smiley sort of growl.

  3. Hi, wanted to alert you to something very cool that Henry Rollins is doing. He’s offering a chance to sound off on an issue for a national audience — and the one person he personally chooses will be flown to LA to co-host the “Henry Rollins Show” marathon on IFC (Independent Film Channel) with Henry.

Rollins is inviting you to tape a short video “rant” and the person who does the one he chooses will be flown to L.A. (the winner and a guest for 3 days/2 nights), meet Henry and host the upcoming “Rollins Show” Marathon.

Go to and record and upload a 30-second video “rant” on one of the 11 hot topics Henry has selected (including abortion rights, has the Iraq war made us safer? Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina, is America a dumb country? global warming, etc.)

All entries will be watched by, and the winner chosen solely by, Henry. He encourages anyone to enter, no matter their political persuasion – his only requirement: have “passion and attitude!”

An amazing opportunity. And a chance to sound off on some issues!

Henry explains it all, and upload your “rant” at:

  4. The failed leadership of the newly elected Democratic Congress is such a disappointment to millions of Americans.

If you told me a year ago that I would no longer be a registered Democrat but instead, an Independent in June, 2007, I would’ve laughed at you. But, Pelosi and Reid and they’re failure to stand-up to this president and carry out the will of the American people made it impossible for me to remain a Democrat.

I predict it will get worse too. Pelosi will accomplish one thing: flipping the Congress back to GOP control as more and more voters send her (and Reid) a message in November, 2008.

  5. Thanks for the tip jbk!

I hope you are wrong, and they regain their senses before Republicans regain congress.
